If you think this whole thing is weird to read, trust me, this is just as weird for me to write.
The rapper B.o.B. has spent the last couple days on his Twitter feed arguing that the world is flat. He has provided lots of “evidence” supporting this theory, and by “evidence” I mean “crudely done conspiracy theorist nonsense.”
The astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson then got on the case, and for whatever reason, decided he would take time out of his day arguing with the rapper B.o.B. about whether or not the earth was flat or round.
Then on Tuesday B.o.B. released a diss track against Tyson. We have officially entered Bananaland.
The song is called “Flatline” (get it!?) and contains the line: “Use your common sense / Why is NASA part of the Department of Defense?” (B.o.B. also believes we faked the moon landing, if you hadn’t guessed that already.)
If this is all a spectacular troll job by B.o.B., I will respect him so much for it. This is Andy Kaufman level genius if he’s messing with all of us. I want it to be so, because if he’s screwing with us, he will instantly become my favorite rapper of all time.
Other than that, not sure what else to say about all this. Stay woke, I guess.
Update: Within about 15 hours, Neil deGrasse Tyson’s nephew shot back at B.o.B. with a track of his own called “Flat to Fact” that he rapped over Drake’s “Back to Back.”
